Ariel, sound like it is a bileaflet valve that looks pretty much like the valve featured on the forum banner on the top of the page... either a Medtronic or a St Jude as they are the 2 major valve makers...

i thought about this one long and hard and all i could come up with was a single leaflet valve

otherwise i end up with a really weird looking thing...

sorry that is not it at all. it is not a ring base valve.it looks more like two stick combined one vertical the other flat and
the tip at the end points down a little.
