Living with a Mechanical Heart Valve: Click.Tick.Thump. Love It!

Artificial Heart Valve Surgery & Living with Warfarin: UK Info Support Group

And the news was good!!  The echo showed my heart chamber has reduced by over 10mm, almost back to normal, and efficency was up 8%!  Even the Dr. was a little surprised, calling it a most dramatic improvment for such little time.

BP is still up a little, so they are sticking me on something for that, but it's the lowest dose avaliable which is always good.

And as soon as the BP starts down at all, I can start my triathlon training again!!!  WOOO HOOOO... although I missed the local sprint Tri last weekend.  (But my wife won her age group...)

Thats all from Oregon USA!

What good news.  My heart went from 65% effectiveness (just before the surgery) to 97% in 12 months.  It is amazing.

I am on a small doseage for BP, so with the Warfarin not too bad.

In the UK the shooting season is ramping up - partridge (from 1 Sep) and pheasant (from 1 Oct), so hopefully the same happens in your part of the world too - just remember lower weight shot = less recoil = less bruising = better when you are taking Warfarin!

Quail, dove and grouse opened on Sept 1, This week we have a Canada Goose special hunt for 5 days, gonna try that on Monday.

Went out for Dove last weekend and got 6 dove and 4 quail... not a bad way to start out the season!

Have been on the BP meds for about 20 hours... and my BP was already down a little...WOO HOOOO!!!

Well, with all the crap going on in town, I only got 1 day to hunt, but got 4 BIG canada geese.  Got them soaking in prep for the BBQ!!!
Lots of Canadas around here too, but not so many shot!  Only 12 days to go, before my first day.  Had a clay lesson on "High Birds" and did not miss too many.  Will let you know how I get on :)

During the Sept Goose, we are allowed 5 birds a day.  My hunting partners went out Tues and got 5 each, and one of them is back at it today...

No limited in the UK - they are almost a pest.  But you have to find a friendly land owner to let you shoot them!  The problem with shooting 5 canadas is what do with them.  We cut of the breasts (plucking is too difficult) and then treat them like fillet steak!  Lovely.

On 26 Sep we have a bag limit of 100 partridge, in the UK these a driven over the guns.  These will definately end up in the pot, roasted, with bread sauce, gravy, game chips, bacon - yummy.

Well I can tell right now, we are going to have to start sharing recipies.  Funny thing is, most people in the us think hunters are sitting in the blind drinking and swearing and talking about girls... truth is, were trading cooking recipies like a bunch of old grandma's... LOL!

Shoot me an e-mail(shoot, get it, hunting... hahahah), tlrmike99@yahoo.com  we can start trading..  Just NO GREENS~~~LOL!
