Has anyone had a recent letter from NHS regarding a device used in open heart surgery which is linked to a rare bacterium infection?

Yes.  It has something to do with the blood warming machine in common use, worldwide, between specific dates (not sure which, 2012 to 2015, I believe).  Not much to do about it but be aware of symptoms such as fever, night sweats, massive weight loss, etc.

Thanks Tim. Interesting. I will keep an eye out for any symptoms!
