waiting for surgery

Hi everyone just wondered if any of you can help i was told just before Christmas that i have Aortic stenosis and would need a MHV i was under the impression that this would  be soon but it now seems after a lot of discussion with my consultant it could a year or more he tells me although my valve is comprmised i still have good pressures in my heart not sure what this means but he tells me this is good my question is this i am having a lot of bad thoughts about what might happen in the interim am i more likely to keel over from a heart attack just lots of negative stuff like that do i rap my self in cotton wool just really scared are any of you who are waiting feeling the same hope someone can help hope all this makes sense Regards to all Jeff
