I have another question, but not related to flying.
When does the noise of the Mechaincal valve not make such a loud thumbing sound. My heart seems to speed up, then it slows and doesn't make such a loud noise.

I also fly a lot and have never had a problem,thats not strictly true as the alarm did go off once but all they did was use the hand held scanner. That has happened to me before even when I didn't have the valve.

No. I fly a lot and its never an issue. I asked about it once at Heathrow and they told me it's too small an item to set off any alarms with the current scanners that are used otherwise wrist watches, rings etc…"
