As a result of a new job in 2007 I had a BUPA health checkup which picked up a heart irregularity, which was suspected to be a genetic problem. After 3 years of monitoring I had a mechanical heart valve fitted at the beginning of October 2010. 4 months later and I am fit and well. back to work on a rehab programme until April.
