I am now five weeks post op I had a aortic valve replacement op at St Thomas Hospital London, I am doing fine only problem I have at present is sleeping I seem to get about 3 to 4 hours sleep wake up then spend ages trying to get back to sleep, i suppose i am getting about 5 or 6 hours sleep which i suppose is enough considering i am not exactly exerting myself during the day !!!!! Hello everyone,
had a bit of a downer this week as i was told i needed a letter from my dentist prior to my heart valve op, so went and saw my dentist who looked concerned about writing a letter to my cardiologist, but he did it and he said i needed a couple of teeth that were decaying dealt with and that i had pockets and sub gingiva calcus on my back teeth !!!! whatever that is so i think this will put my op date off till i get this sorted, i was wondering if anyone else has…

just found this site and think its great, I am awaiting an aortic valve replacement being diagnosed last november came as a big shock and was getting quite stressed and worried about what lay ahead, but this site has meant i was able to read about others in the same boat as me, what they went through and how they are progressing is just great and has helped calm me down, I hope to get a date through in the next two weeks for my Op, i think there will be ups and downs in…
