Richard Deal replied to Ruth Gold's discussion 'Warfarin making me tired ???'
hey ruth, there is an alternative to warfarin which is called phenprocoumon which might be worth a try. the tiredness sounds ominous to me, and i don't know whether it is an undesired side-effect of warfarin or not. you said the "heart is…

Thanks Richard I will look at some blogs as you suggested. I only found the site by chance. I had my valve replaced 2003 but was trying to find out if I should be having any check ups. I had  have my blood done every week but not my blood pressure or anything else.

Richard thanks for reply. My BP does not get very high generally around 100 / 60 but it doies get down to 80/50 sometimes so this limits the amount of beta blockers I can take. My hear also used to get faster at night time pulse up from 75 to 95 but that does not happen now. Glad your valve is not too noisy

Thanks for message Richard. My problem with my valve fitted 6 months ago is the noise and vibration. I have to take temazepam to get to sleep and then only for a few hours. The thumping from my valve is sometimes felt in my neck and sometimes it seems near my stomach, when it is near the stomach I get lots of wind. The consultant just say yo must live with this and it looks like others on this site have similar problems, is your valve very noisy?

my INR today was 2.1 so they are keeping me on the same alternating 2mg/3mg coumadin regiment over the weekend.. been a couple weeks like this so should be slowing the frequency of testing and possibly transferring me to my cardiologist for continued monitoring of my INR soon
