Hi Gary

Just read your post and see you are a new member. Hope you will find what other members post helpful.

I read Graeme's idea of the foam topper and wheat bag- I started using a pillow against my chest before I was dismissed--the pressure felt good against the "cut". The Dr. saw me doing that and remarked "Now don't start that"  hhhhhmmm patients leave with a heart shape pillow now .  I never stopped , I still use a pillow which I make myself. \-------Good luck to you , hope your pain and healing process goes well.

Garry..

yeah..the tick.click.thump! drives you nuts for the first few months or so.. !! ..in a quiet room in bed especially..to help i suggest you get a memory foam topper (min 1 inch) for the bed and also good size wheat bag to hold against your chest when you sleep - on your side is best i find...it helped us immensly as the memory foam muffles the vibration of the valve noise and the wheat bag is very comforting against your chest and also muffles the noise... !! I have had my valve now for 9 years next month and you do eventually get used to it! ...nad a good glass of red wine also helps :-)

cheers

Graeme

ps ..post your thoughts/questions on the forum or start your own blog and let the other members share their noise reduction tick! tock! ideas with you as well!
