Living with a Mechanical Heart Valve: Click.Tick.Thump. Love It!

Support Group for Mechanical & Artificial Heart Valve Surgery & Using Warfarin

About four years ago, I had a chest x-ray. Something didnt look right, so they had me do a cat scan. Then found an aneurysm in my aorta. Close to my aortic heart valve. It was 4.7cm. Every year I had another cat scan. Last year they found it had grown to 5.5cm. And decided to operate before it burst. During my pre-op exam they discovered my aortic heart valve didnt sound or look right. So they decided to replace it with a mechanical valve. That happened on Jan. 14 of this year. Everything is going great. I was released from the hospital on the 21st of Jan. And a week later was back in the hospital. I think I tryed to do to much to soon. So this time I'am going a little slower. Even us old people can learn things.lol
