Sorry not been on this site for a while. Just to keep you posted as its 5 months since my aortic valve replacement.
I saw my Cardiologist this week and i had a few questions answered. I was due to have ascending aorta replacement during the op but since found out i had a twist in the aorta that they managed to straighten but forgot to ask how!
I also found out something interesting as i didn't have a Bicuspid valve, i had a Quadricuspid valve (4 leaflets), but…

Well bags packed off for my 5* All inclusive hols to Derriford hospital tomorrow ready for op on Wednesday. ( aortic valve and Ascending aorta replacment). Think i just need to get my "huggy" ready and hopefully sorted! Will keep you posted in hopefully week or so! x

Hi i met with the surgeon today. Great to be able to put a face to the name! He explained all whats to happen as i need aortic valve replacement and also ascending aorta replacement. Aorta not too dilated yet but will progress within the next 5 years so he said will replace it the same time. I asked how long will i have to wait and i think i was shocked as i can have the operation in November. But he also said with 2 young children perhaps i may want to wait till January so i can enjoy xmas.…
