I had a mechanical heart valve in Nov 2010 after going into the final stages of  heart failure . I was born with bicuspad aortic stenosis , I always had a reduced excersise tolerance since i was a child but it never really caused me any problems , over the last few years i was becoming more breathless , and tired , attending the hospital every year for check ups and was advised that the valve was serious but stable . ticking in head

hi hope everyone is well and was wondering if any of you get a very metalic tick in your head when exercising , ive had my new mitrol valve for 10 weeks and everything else is going fine.

op done at last !

Hi Tickers, i've been a member since June 2010 after being advised to join by a nurse in our local hospital here in Dartford. She told me it was a great source of information ( wow not wrong there then ).

I was born in 1960 with a biscupid aortic valve, never caused me any problems as i sailed through life being told i had a

murmur by every person who held a stephoscope to my chest. In January 2010 whilst having my HGV medical my GP said he wanted me to have some heart test's…
