I've had the op

Hi everyone, well I had the op on 7th Nov at Harefield, so now almost 3 weeks post-op.  I'm happy to report it went very smoothly, no complications apart from picking up a urinary tract infection.  So glad I chose a mechanical valve as I wouldn't want to go through this again.  I was in hospital for 9 days as my inr took a little while to come up into range.  Was discharged on the Friday and went to my local anticoagulant clinic on the Monday morning where it had dropped to 1.2.  So I've…

10 weeks post op

Had my discharge appointment with the surgical team 8 weeks ago and was put on 1.25mg of Bisoprolol(beta blocker) to reduce my heart rate which was around 100 at rest and higher on activity. I'm now back under the Cardiologist and have an appointment with him in December.

I started Cardiac Rehab which I think is called Phase 3. I have found it very good and get a lot out of it. The main attendees are elderly gentlemen who have had heart attacks/events. I appear to be the only… Continue
