Support Group for Mechanical & Artificial Heart Valve Surgery & Using Warfarin
Just wanted to share my happy news with you all. I’ve just been on a cycling holiday in Andalucia – beautiful spot in Spain but very hilly! It’s been just over 5 months since my MHV Aortic Valve & Ascending Aorta replacements. I’m 47yrs old and like cycling, I wanted to get back to cycling as soon as possible – I had an electric motor fitted to my bike and had been cycling again post ~2.5months since Op. I hired an Electric bike on holiday – a pedalic i.e. have to pedal to get the extra power from the battery. I cycled approx 25 to 40miles per day for 5days in ~35C up & down big hills, using only up to energy level 2 out of 4 levels of the battery – so a lot of energy from me :) I’m very pleased with my progress and the week before my holiday I saw my Cardiologist for my 5 month review – he too was happy with my progress, saying he would place no restrictions on me and he would see me in 1years time – I’m very happy about this.
Best regards to all
